THE MOCHISU MISSION

Vision
To build a sustainable partnership with Colombian artisans who strive to write their own future.

Our Mission
At MochiSu, we believe style can influence social change. That’s why we’ve created a brand that lifts our designers up while giving customers a place to purchase fairly made products. By providing a global platform for the Wayuu people to exhibit their beautiful, unique work, we’re enabling them to rise above the extreme poverty in which they live. Through our dedication to preserving Colombian weaving traditions and our passion for encouraging meaningful purchases, we remain committed to achieving our vision of building a sustainable partnership with Colombian artisans who strive to write their own future.

Our Values
ETHICAL: Each of our bags is sourced ethically following fair trade principles. They are designed and created by the Wayuu artisans.

HIGH QUALITY: The craftsmanship that goes in to each of our handcrafted bags is rooted in the traditions of the artisans who create them.

UNIQUE: Wayuu bags designs are distinct and memorable thanks to the soulful creativity that goes into each one.

SUSTAINABILITY: We focus on building sustainable partnerships with artisans in Colombia and supporting their craft by expanding their reach and sharing their remarkable talents with the world.

The Name "MochiSu"
The "Mochi" comes from the Spanish word Mochila which is what we call these colorful, statement pieces in Colombia
The "Su" comes from the Wayuunaiki word, Susu meaning bag in their native language.
Put them together and we have... MochiSu
